THE LIGHT STATE OF TRANCE
Using Hypñoidization, the Waking Method, the Sleeping Method or the like: Light Trance is the next observable phenomenon displayed in the subject during Trance induction. Described as being in a continuum of Levels 6 thru 11, this level of Trance is established in a subject when Catalepsy is observed initially in the eyelids, followed by the limbs, and finally with the existence of limb rigidity.
Catalepsy (in cases of mental illness), is a morbid condition characterized by waxy rigidity of the limbs, which may be placed in various positions that are maintained for extended periods of time; lack of response to stimuli; slow pulse and respiration; and pale skin (a Trance-like state).
Catalepsy, when established by the hypnotist in a state of Trance, manifests in the subject with such responses as eyelid heaviness and closure with resistance to willful opening; elevation of one or both arms, which can remain in that position indefinitely. As Trance responsiveness increases, the subject is capable of maintaining limb and/or total body rigidity.
Once the subject sufficiently Cataleptic, suggestions of Anesthesia involving the feet and hands (stocking/glove), may be accomplished; demonstrating the subject's mental state is suitable for progression to the level of Medium Trance.
