Introduction


      AT THE BEGINNING, your use of the CD on Self-Hypnosis & Mood Elevation should follow the recommended, twice daily, practice sessions carefully.   Getting in shape, building and conditioning your Mïnd and Emotions for Strength and Good Health, is not a problem if you use the proper techniques.   You will find those techniques on this Personal Training CD, along with the accompaning text.
      By practicing what is outlined in this exercise, within only a few weeks, relaxation and deep concentration will become so much a part of your daily life that you will be able to do it automatically!   As you achieve deeper relaxation and more focused concentration, you will experience a much clearer sense of inner peace and well being.   Your Mïnd will be clear and fresh, and will begin functioning at its peak!   The first step is simply believing it is possible.

«Hypnosis Is Not Sleep!»

Hypnosis is deep concentration and hightened awareness, not Sleep.
IN CONTRAST TO SLEEP;  Hypnosis is a unique process of deep concentration and heightened awareness.   Although in sleep and Hypnosis alike, one's awareness of their outer environment is reduced; while in the state of Hypnosis one's focal awareness  (-- awareness of their selected object of concentration --)  is at its optimal capacity.   In sleep, one's focal awareness is almost completely obliterated!  Hypnosis is Deep Concentration and Heightened Awareness.

      All forms of Hypnosis are based upon the assumption that you as a human being are conscious, that you can in fact direct your attention where ever you want it, and that this power of attention serves to stimulate activity where it is focused!   This form of aroused concentration can be disciplined and directed toward specific goals.   It is when this aroused concentration produces a special type of dissociation, which is structured and maintained in an individual by another, that it can be defined as "Hypnosis."    When this is accomplished by the individual alone, it is referred to as "Self-Hypnosis!"  Self-Hypnosis is Self-Aroused Dissociation.

Self-Hypnosis is self-aroused Dissociation!

(Auto Hypnosis), is based on the assumption that the nature of any task may be influenced by which of the brain's two hemispheres is actually "in-control" and "takes-on" the job at hand, (while inhibiting the other hemisphere).   The True Trance experience involves dissociating the critically analytical nature of the conscious Left Hemisphere ("Left Brain" ) long enough to allow the Right Hemisphere ("Right Brain" ) to take control.  Self-Hypnosis can open up new areas of your Mïnd.

      Only you can experience for yourself this cognitive shift, this change in your subjective state.   You may experience a sense of mental conflict at first, but by relying upon your

            As you begin to recognize when you have shifted cognitive modes, you will have taken that first step toward learning how to take control over which side of the brain you use for any given task.   By setting up the conditions for this mental shift (or with mental cues), and experiencing the different feelings that are produced, you will be able to recognize and generate this state within yourself (by "conscious volition") !  Right Hemispheric thinking .......
