BEFORE THE ACTUAL HYPNOTIC TRANCE IS ATTEMPTED, a number of maneuvers may often be employed to serve as an introduction. These maneuvers are called Tests Of Suggestibility. It should, however, be pointed out that, although these maneuvers are described as Tests, they more accurately represent the same phenomena induced by the Waking Hypnosis technique.
Their employment provides the hypnotist with an opportunity to introduce early hypnotic
Cues and Suggestions to the subject's Unconscious Mïnd, which can be acted upon later within and/or out side of the session. They also provide the hypnotist with an objective clinical sign indicating the level of trance experienced by the subject, and also a point of reference with which to introduce Post Hypnotic Suggestions.
Table Of Hypnotic Phenomena:
- No subjectively convincing experiences beyond the ordinary. Nothing beyond purely voluntary, consciously deliberate actions and the use of imagination as it is readily available in alert everyday life!
- A- Chevreul Pendulum Illusion:
Mechanical amplification of tiny ideomotor movements with visual capture!
B- Hands Moving Together:
Sizable ideomotor movements with eyes closed to eliminate monitoring!
- A- Hand Levitation:
Sizable ideomotor movements with eyes open to provide visual monitoring!
B- Inability To Stand:
Apparent loss of volitional control of muscular responses!
- A- Eyes Closed Age Regression:
Fantasy with eyes closed to minimize discrepant observations!
B- Eyes Closed Visual Hallucinations:
Imagined perception with eyes closed to minimize discrepant observations!
- A- Complete Amnesia:
Prevention of memory retrieval!
B- Eyes Open Age Regression:
Fantasy with eyes open and environmental interactions that provide discrepant observations!
C- Eyes Open Visual Hallucinations:
Imagined perception with eyes open and envbironmental interactiona that provide discrepant observations!
D- Complete Anesthesia:
The complete observation of a forceful perceptual experience from conscious experiencing!
